Training for schools and colleges

For SENCOs, ALNCos, pastoral and inclusion leads, attendance teams, and whole-staff INSET.

Sunlight across an empty classroom with a blackboard

School CPD budgets are small and the calendar is full, so a training day has to be worth the cover. The courses here are built around what actually turns up in a school week: the child who cannot get through the gate, the one whose behaviour reads as defiance and is not, the annual safeguarding update that has to reach every member of staff including the office and the site team.

Sessions are delivered by clinicians who also hold teaching qualifications. Two of Blip's trainers have taught in schools, one holds a PGCE in Additional Learning Needs and spent five years as a SEN tutor for ages 7 to 19. They know what a Tuesday looks like from the staffroom as well as from the clinic.

Two hours, twilight or an INSET slot

KCSIE 2026 Annual Update

The annual update, built for whole-staff delivery with no cap on numbers. KCSIE 2026 withdrew the condensed Part one, so support staff now need the same briefing as the classroom.

From £350 in houseCourse details

Full day, six hours of CPD

Trauma or Neurodiversity?

Two trainers, one from each specialism, because a single trainer reliably favours the side they trained in. Both wrong turns are covered at the same weight, including the one practitioners cause.

From £950 in houseCourse details

Whole-staff sessions, and the ones that need a smaller room

The KCSIE annual update is priced with no per-delegate charge, because it is sold as a whole-staff INSET slot: a hall of 120 costs the same as a group of 20. That is deliberate. Every member of staff now has to read Part one in full, and a briefing that only reaches the teaching team leaves a gap.

Other courses work better small. Trauma informed practice asks people to name the points where their own service gets it wrong, and it does not go well when a manager is sitting with their own staff. We will say so at quote stage rather than after the day.

Blip does not run designated safeguarding lead training, and does not run the safer recruitment training KCSIE expects a member of an appointment panel to hold. Both belong with your safeguarding partnership or a specialist provider.

Where a pupil needs more than training can give

Blip is also an independent mental health service for ages 7 to 25, taking referrals from schools with triage within two working days. Buying training does not commit you to the service, and the two are quoted separately.
