Accessibility statement
This statement covers blip.org.uk. It was last reviewed in May 2026.
Conformance status
Blip Healthcare Ltd is committed to meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA for blip.org.uk. This website is currently in active development toward full AA conformance. Some pages may not yet meet every criterion. A formal independent audit is planned prior to full public launch.
We build to WCAG 2.2 AA from the start rather than retrofitting accessibility after launch. Where an issue is identified, we aim to address it within 10 working days unless a structural change is required.
Technical measures in place
- All pages use semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, main, nav, footer) so screen readers can navigate by region.
- Interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields) are keyboard-reachable in a logical order matching the visual layout.
- Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements and meet the WCAG 2.2 enhanced focus-visible requirement.
- Colour contrast ratios for body text, headings and UI components meet or exceed the WCAG AA minimum of 4.5:1.
- No information is conveyed by colour alone. Error states and status indicators also use text or icons.
- All images carry descriptive alt text. Decorative images use empty alt attributes to hide them from assistive technology.
- The site respects the prefers-reduced-motion browser setting. Fade animations are suppressed for users who have requested reduced motion.
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or function. The layout uses relative units throughout.
- All form inputs have visible labels. Error messages are associated with the relevant input via aria-describedby.
- Page titles are unique and descriptive. Each page announces its purpose to screen readers.
Known issues
- A formal independent WCAG 2.2 AA audit is scheduled for completion before full public launch. Some issues may remain that the audit will identify.
- Complex data tables on the outcomes page may benefit from additional headers. This will be addressed following the audit.
Accessibility in clinical care
Accessibility extends beyond this website. The following adjustments are available for clinical sessions at no additional cost.
Captions
Live captions are available on all video sessions. Request this at booking or at any point in your care.
Large print materials
Any written materials (appointment letters, care plan summaries, discharge documents) can be provided in larger print or a different format on request.
Communication support
Clinicians are trained to adapt their communication for young people with language processing differences, autism, ADHD, or learning disabilities. Tell us your needs and we will accommodate them.
Flexible session length
Sessions can be shortened or extended, and breaks can be built in, for young people who find standard session lengths difficult. Agree this with your clinician at the care plan stage.
