“I work with children and families by creating a warm, encouraging space where they feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. Using a CBT-based approach, I gently guide children in noticing patterns that may be causing them distress and help them build practical, confidence-boosting skills they can use in daily life. I collaborate closely with families so the strategies we develop together feel natural, supportive, and grounded in each child's strengths.”
With over 22 years of experience working with children and young people, Cheryl has built a diverse career across youth work, education, and mental health services. Throughout this time, they have supported young people in a variety of settings, helping them navigate emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges. As a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) therapist, Cheryl has worked in both private practice and within the NHS, providing evidence-based therapeutic support to children, adolescents, and families. Their extensive experience, combined with a compassionate and person-centred approach, enables them to empower young people to build resilience, confidence, and positive mental well-being.
