For professionals
Referring a patient to Blip
We work with GPs, school SENCOs, paediatricians, and other professionals to provide rapid, high-quality assessment and therapeutic support.
How to refer
Referrals can be made via our online referral form, by email to referrals@blip.org.uk, or by telephone. We do not require a standardised referral format. A brief clinical summary with the child's age, presenting concerns, urgency, and your contact details is sufficient.
A care navigator will contact the family within 24 hours of receiving a referral. We will copy you in on all correspondence unless the family requests otherwise.
Shared-care protocol
Where a child is under the care of a GP or paediatrician, Blip operates a shared-care model. We provide clinical letters after each stage of an assessment and at agreed review points during therapy. Medication prescribing (where appropriate) can be managed under a shared-care protocol with the GP, subject to agreement.
We do not initiate shared-care medication arrangements without written agreement from the GP. All clinical correspondence uses the NHS standard letter format and includes the child's NHS number where known.
Questions
If you have a clinical question about whether Blip is appropriate for a specific patient, email referrals@blip.org.uk. A senior clinician will respond within one working day.
